Tukaka Coast for walking and swim

It was a day that just started dull but kept on getting warmer until a swim in afternoon and a snooze on the beach .........for Lesley!
From the marina at Tukaka we wandered until we found the path up that would eventually lead to an island accessible except at high tides. Steep steps and a steep path led up to a hill top lighthouse with spectacular views of a choppy sea below. Back into town for a coffee before driving around all the local sandy coves until the very last one which turned out to be our favourite. A swim for me as the blue sky and sushine pushed up the mid-afternoon temperature.  Back in again before a smoothie from the beach van and a short drive in Hetti back to our boutique hut.
