A day in Devonport

The weather has bucked up again with 24C, a slightly muggy feel with just a chance of a shower. So off on the train into the city and a took a ferry across the harbour to the very quaint Devonport.
Boasting old colonial  houses, trendy arty shops, cafes and 2 volcanic hills. Guess what we did? Along the waterfront and around the north point then upwards following the markers to visit the fort and old gun emplacements in the tunnels. Very handy when a short shower came our way.
Back down into town for a snack before taking on Mt. Victoria. Not really a mountain,

just a volcanic hump. Splendid views of the harbour and Rangitoto.
Ferry back, fish and chips..........we certainly know how to live!
