A day in Rottnest Island

We booked a day return the evening before and was greeted with a 5.30am wake up to get to the early ferry! Well worth it as it was pretty empty for the 45 minutes lumy fast ferry journey. Picked up our bikes and did the 30 k (by the time we did every road) ride. No traffic allowed just an hourly bus. Came across our first baby rue that turned out to be Quantoxhead or something! Very gentle creature with long back legs and has joeys in pouch. Size of a hare I would say. Beaches all round the island are stunning and after  an average piza lunch we cyled off and found our own one. No sharks only a large crab. Whale on the way over and way back so was probably the special tourist whale to amuse the bits.  We liked it anyway.
Knackered and drive back to our 5* house for the same tea as we had yesterday!
Tomorrow  another move on but that's a new day.

Moving Nothing day but not before a Park Run

Logistically difficult but across the city for an 8 am start for Lesley''s first international.  1st in her class and a warm run even at this hour as the barometer  hit 36C later in the day.
Out to the airport to pick up the hire car and back to the city apartment to collect cases. 45 min north on the freeway to a really classy house in Clarkson. Drove down to the harbour for a cold drink in the shade, bit of shopping and looking forward  to  a  night  in.

The family altogether

What a lovely thought & surprise to be able to get the children & grandchildren together all at the same time!
To keep it a secret was a brill idea and must have been really difficult  for the small-ones. We had absolutely  no idea,  well done all and special thanks for Nicola who masterminded it all and Graham for driving that extra mile to pick up and take back Leah
We are proud of you all!
